Verdi’s beloved tragedy follows Violetta, a Parisian courtesan whose pursuit of love collides with the rigid judgment of society. This new co-production with Pacific Opera Victoria, conducted by Jacques Lacombe and directed by Idan Cohen, draws on Pop Art and Hitchcock-inspired visuals for a striking contemporary staging, starring soprano Andriana Chuchman as Violetta. Sung in Italian with English SURTITLES projected above the stage; closes VO’s 67th season. Performances: Fri Apr 24, Wed Apr 29 & Fri May 1 at 7:30pm, plus a Sat May 2 matinee at 2:00pm.
