Disney’s highly anticipated live-action reimagining of the beloved 2016 animated classic Moana arrives in theatres on July 10, 2026. Directed by Emmy and Tony Award winner Thomas Kail (Hamilton), the film stars Catherine Laga’aia as Moana, the adventurous Polynesian heroine, alongside Dwayne Johnson returning as the larger-than-life demigod Maui. When a terrible curse threatens her island of Motunui, Moana must voyage beyond the reef to find an ancient relic and save her people. Featuring original songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda and a score by Mark Mancina, this vibrant musical adventure is a celebration of Polynesian culture, bravery, and the ocean’s call. Available in IMAX and standard formats at Cineplex locations across Metro Vancouver including Scotiabank Theatre Vancouver, Cineplex Langley, and Cineplex Richmond Centre.
