Rossini’s effervescent comedy brings warmth and wit to a Vancouver midwinter, following the clever Rosina and resourceful barber Figaro as they outsmart a jealous guardian for the sake of true love. Conducted by Leslie Dala and directed by Morris Panych, the production stars mezzo-soprano Deepa Johnny in her Vancouver Opera debut as Rosina, with baritone Clarence Frazer as Figaro and tenor John Tessier as Count Almaviva. Sung in Italian with English SURTITLES projected above the stage. Performances: Sat Feb 13, Thu Feb 18 & Sat Feb 20 at 7:30pm, plus a Sun Feb 21 matinee at 2:00pm.
